The ChapterNet Student Dashboard is the place to go to log in and create or update your profile. You will then be able to apply for a LNADS scholarship with just a few clicks.
The process of creating and filling out your student profile and application is straight forward. It will, however, take some time and effort so don't wait until the last minute. For assistance in filling out your application, please review all the information below. If you still have questions, please contact Chapter President, Beth Stomberg, at: bethstom2@gmail.com. On each page you will also see a "Support" tab that will enable you to create a help desk ticket.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW WHILE COMPLETING YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION:
All Scholarship Awards are applied to a student's SECOND SEMESTER in college unless the circumstances of the educational program requires an exception. For example, if a student is pursuing a trade or vocational training program that does not have more than one semester. Exceptions are decided on a case-by-case basis by the LNADS Scholarship Committee.
LNADS is required to utilize the online application by our Affiliation Agreement with Scholarship America. However, not everything in the online application is relevant to our process. For example, LNADS does not look at GPA, Class Rank, Test Scores, Financial Info, Transcripts, or Essays (unless you have an unusual circumstance or are applying for the Polly Condron Scholarship, both of which require a brief essay).
Under the Activities Tab (more info on this below), you should be sure to include all the activities that you participated in during you four years of high school (beginning with 9th grade).
You MUST provide a name and contact info for a person who can verify your volunteer service hours in order to get credit for them! For Athletics, please list which years you participated in each sport.
Check "applied/accepted" in the Basic Information section of the application under "College Application Status" - once you have completed your application.
Use the town zip code of 01237 or 01224 on the address line for your application to be processed.
ACTIVITIES TAB:
This is where you will list all of your activities such as Athletics - Clubs and Organizations - Volunteer Hours - Music Theatre/Arts - Employment - etc.
You MUST provide a name and contact info for a person who can verify your volunteer service hours in order to get credit for them! For Athletics, please list which years you participated in each sport.
For any LNADS activities/fundraisers that you have participated in during your high school career, please list as follows: Select "Volunteer Activities" under the Activity Type, then select "Dollars for Scholars" under the Activity.
For Community Service Activities that do not fall into any of the categories provided, please use the "Other Community Service" category from the drop down box to include activities you have been involved with during your four high school years.
Be sure to list each activity under the appropriate category and tally your hours. If the number of years or total hours spent per year are hard to enter, you should include the detailed information in the "Activity Description" box. You can also use this box to include the contact information if you like, or you can add that to the Activity Organization Address box.
ESSAYS TAB:
THIS IS NOT A REQUIREMENT for a LNADS scholarship. You may choose to provide an essay in support of your application for a LNADS scholarship but ONLY if you feel there were "special circumstances" that prevented you from certain achievements. If this applies to you then briefly describe, in 50 words or less, any personal or family circumstances that may have affected your ability to reach your goals, or participate in school or other activities.
HOWEVER, an essay is required if you want to be considered for the Polly Condron Memorial Scholarship in addition to your LNADS scholarship:
The family of Pauline (Polly) Condron has established a scholarship in Polly's memory. Polly was a loving and respected resident of Lanesborough who sadly passed away in 2019 at the age of 98. Her devotion, enthusiasm and love of life was a breath of fresh air to all who knew her. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who resides in either Lanesborough or New Ashford with plans to pursue a career in early childhood education (first choice), including but not limited to preschool children. Secondarily, it will be awarded to a student planning to study education at any level, and thirdly to a student who has voluntarily tutored younger students. Please write a brief essay, no more than 150 words, exemplifying these requirements. If you do not qualify for this scholarship or wish not to apply, simply type NA in the response box. Thank you.
